Calling All Lords & Ladies to The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire

At B.F Hiestand House Bed and Breakfast we have watched our faire (fare) share of Lords and Ladies get dressed as their favorite Renaissance personas. They then run off and play along with olde world villagers and merrymakers at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. In its 36th season on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate, it’s a short distance from our Bed and Breakfast.

The Faire runs every weekend through October. A unique theme is showcased each weekend offering a different experience for every visit. Enjoy themed entertainment, foods, participatory contests and activities. You’ll find living history through craft, as well as ancient sport and dance demonstrations. Each weekend is filled with new and exciting ways to put a bit o’ marry in ye. Brush up on your Elizabethan Language here.

You’ll be entertained by the antics of a colorful cast of characters including gypsies, jesters, and jugglers. Watch yourself when sword fights and battles break out. There’s plenty of debauchery and spirits to keep the most chaste ladies blushing. Two acting troupes bring to life the Renaissance era–The Bacchanalians and the Blackfryars. Guests have been known to become acquainted with Noblemen, Knights, Henry VIII, King of England, France & Lord of Ireland and Queen Catherine of Aragon.
