A Day of Music and Shopping in Downtown Marietta

Several times throughout the year, downtown Marietta, Pennsylvania, comes alive with street fairs and seasonal events that celebrate our historic rivertown's spirit of community. From the springtime Cherry Blossom Festival and Marietta Day to the holiday Marietta Candlelight Tour of Homes, residents and visitors are invited to come together in festivities that honor our town's heritage and hospitality. Stay with us at B.F. Hiestand House this October and take part in two of Marietta's fall events — Blues and Brews Music Fest and Marietta Fall Sidewalk and Yard Sales — both on one fun-filled day!

The fun happens Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. Start your day bright and early by shopping for some bargains at the Marietta Fall Sidewalk and Yard Sales. At 8 a.m., businesses along West Market Street will bring out their best deals to the sidewalk — deals so good shoppers will be enticed inside for even more great finds. Some of the shops you'll want to check out include For the Love of Dog, Marietta Center for the Arts, The Artful Nest, The Glazing Sun, and Traditional Treasures. Then behind Mulberry Thrill Outdoor Café, be sure to check out a dozen specialty vendors showing their wares. Around town, residents will have sales of their own for a community-wide yard sale like no other.

As the sales wrap up around 1 p.m., the music begins. The Blues and Brews Music Fest has quickly become a Marietta favorite. The open-air street festival showcases electric and acoustic blues music on four stages along Front Street, which is closed to traffic for the afternoon. The lineup up bands playing from 1-6 p.m. includes Octavia Blues, the Skyla Burrell Blues Band and Soul Miners Union, as well as solo and trio acts. A variety of food trucks will help to fill your belly as you peruse the artisan and collectible vendors. Enjoy the "brews" part of the festival at Marietta's breweries and brew pubs: River Trail Brewing, McCleary's Pub and Shank's Tavern.
