The Enchanting Marietta Garden Tour
Every year for about the last 12 years, homes, farms, churches and businesses throughout Marietta have opened their garden gates to guests for the annual Marietta Garden Tour. It's an opportunity to peek at some of our historic river town's most colorful and creative landscapes. You're invited to stroll through these outdoor oases — from creative side gardens to expansive manicured landscapes — where you'll no doubt gain some gardening inspiration to take home.
The 2023 Marietta Garden Tour is set for Saturday, June 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. As you explore the tapestry of eight breathtaking gardens along the tour, you'll be awestruck by the countless varieties of vibrant summer flowers in bloom, not to mention the lush greenery and trees, meticulously constructed hardscapes, and peaceful water features. Each garden treats visitors to a kaleidoscope of colors, scents and textures and truly reflects the passion, dedication and creativity of its owner.
The Marietta Garden Tour is a fundraising event for the historic Marietta Community House, which now serves as a premier event space. Built in 1875, it was purchased by Henry Hiestand, son of lumber company founder B.F. Hiestand, the namesake of our charming Victorian bed-and-breakfast and who donated the building to the community of Marietta. During the garden tour, the Marietta Community House will host lectures where expert gardeners and horticulturists provide insights into gardening techniques, plant care and sustainable practices. It's also the location for a delicious pork barbecue lunch that will refuel you for your garden journey and is available for an additional cost.
The Marietta Garden Tour brings together people who share a love of the outdoors and a passion for gardening, creating a bridge between nature and community. It encourages us all to slow down and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings, whether you are an experienced gardener or a novice with a budding green thumb. Venture on this captivating outdoor journey when you stay with us at B.F. Hiestand House in June and be reminded of the transformative power of nature and the joy that gardens can bring to our lives.
