Fall Fun in Lancaster County
Getting lost was never so much fun. It’s a giggle-fest as you wind your way through the twists and turns of the giant walk-through corn mazes. Whether you are 7 or 70, a corn maze offers the opportunity for a family fun adventure that often requires teamwork to find the hidden clues and checkpoints to find your way through the maze. There are several corn mazes within a short drive of the B. F. Hiestand House Bed and Breakfast.
- Located in Ronks, PA, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm offers a variety of activities for the entire family. The theme of this year’s Amazing Maize Maze is “Music Through the Decades” carved into a 5-acre cornfield offering over 2.5 miles of paths, scenic bridges, and clues. Don’t worry, if you get lost, just wave your flag and the Maze Master will help you find your way. Open now through November 8. View the schedule for dates and times. Tickets can be purchased online to avoid standing in line.
- Oregon Dairy located in Lititz is a real working Lancaster County PA farm. You’ll find a family supermarket, restaurant, gift shoppe and award-winning bakery. The design of this year’s corn maze is “Hay Haulin.” Open every weekend beginning September 19-21 through October 31, Nov. 1 & 2.
- A fourth-generation family-run farm, Flinchbaugh’s Orchard is located east of York in Hellam Township offering fresh fruits and vegetables. A 5-acre cornfield has been turned into a corn maze called “What’s the Buzz About.” Open daily Monday – Saturday, now through November 8. Check out the new scavenger hunt. The Pick-Your-Own-Pumpkin Patch opens September 13 and is open daily Monday – Saturday through November 1. You’ll be sure to find the perfect pumpkin to carve this Halloween.
Pick your own apples at Cherry Hill Orchards located in Lancaster. From now through October you can pick your favorite apple including Golden Delicious, Ida Red, Rome, and Stayman along with many other varieties. Check the website for ripening dates. Bring your own containers for a fun day of apple picking in the orchard. Open Monday through Saturday.
The 34th Annual Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire takes you back in time to 16-century English where the ruling monarch was King Henry VIII and his queen, Catherine of Aragon. The Shire will be filled with a cast of characters, music and dancing. Every weekend offers exciting entertainment and a complete schedule can be found in the Daily Writ program available at the entrance. Open every weekend now through October 26. The 35-acre village, located on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate in Manheim, offers over 90 stage shows daily, 22 Royal Kitchens and numerous artisan merchants with handcrafted wares.
Opening September 12 and every weekend through November 9, Field of Screams offers a number of heart-stopping attractions such as Haunted Hayride, Den of Darkness, and Frightmare Asylum. Each attraction is unique and filled with horrifying thrills and terror. Located in Mountville, you can purchase tickets for one or all of the attractions. Live bands, special events and competitions are held each weekend.
