Haunted Half Marathon and 5K in Marietta
Grab your Halloween costume and get ready for the run of your life! The Haunted Half Marathon and 5K in Marietta takes place bright and early on Halloween morning, Oct. 31. Both races start and finish at Marietta's River Front Park, and run entirely on the paved surface of the Northwest Lancaster Rail Trail. Participants will enjoy a course that takes them through picturesque Lancaster countryside and provides stunning autumn views of the Susquehanna River. Beautiful fall colors will be on display during the race, and crisp fall temperatures should make for ideal running conditions.
Being held on Halloween, race participants are encouraged to deck themselves out in the spirit of this spooktacular holiday. Ghouls and goblins, superheroes and villains, cartoon characters and crazy creatures – the costume possibilities are endless! Your creativity will be rewarded, as special awards will be presented for the best three costumes.
If you think running 13.1 miles is a "trick," then you'll earn your "treat" when you cross the finish line. Race medals, long-sleeve tech shirts, water, food and goodie bags await weary runners at the end of the road.
