Holiday Shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village
Where can you go to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your Christmas list – all in one place? At the Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, Pennsylvania! This shopping village of more than 40 specialty stores is one of Lancaster County's premier shopping destinations – and it's especially festive during the month of December. Plan a holiday season getaway at B.F. Hiestand House and enjoy stress-free shopping at the Kitchen Kettle Village, just 30 minutes from our historic bed and breakfast.
The origins of the Kitchen Kettle Village date back to the mid-1950s, when Bob and Pat Burnley started a scratch-made jelly business out of their garage. They opened one store and then another, until a small village was born. Today, the business gets help from the second and third generation of family members who run two-thirds of the shops located at Kitchen Kettle.
As you wander through the tastefully decorated village, you'll quickly get into the spirit of the season with twinkling lights, colorful decor and even live holiday music on Saturdays. The aromas of freshly made seasonal treats will draw you into some of the most popular shops, like the Canning Kitchen and the Bake Shop, where you can watch as Pennsylvania Dutch baked goods and canned goods are prepared right before your eyes.
You'll find other uniquely Lancaster County gifts such as Amish quilts at the Village Handmade, handcrafted pottery from Jakpot Ceramics, and artwork from Dutchland Galleries. In addition to locally made items, you'll also be able to shop for your favorite national brands like Ugg boots at the Deerskin Leather Shop, Vera Bradley at Girls Day Out, Brighton and Pandora pendants and bracelets at The Jewelry Bar, and more. As you pick up a few Christmas gifts along the way, you just might find an unexpected treasure to take home for yourself!
Kitchen Kettle Village has expanded hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas to give you plenty of extra time to finish your holiday shopping. Be sure to check out their website for holiday hours and activities.
