While the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is undoubtedly one of the top attractions in the region, the historic Mount Hope Mansion also hosts a variety of exciting events throughout the spring and summer months that will keep you busy and coming back for more! Solve a murder mystery over dinner, discover your inner Irish heritage, savor the flavors of the winery’s tasting room, or view the vintage icons of Volkswagen; Mount Hope has something for everyone, and our bed and breakfast is just a short drive away.

Through April, enjoy a delicious four-course banquet within the Victorian-era mansion as you piece together the clues to solve the Murder Mystery that has everyone stumped. Satisfy your appetite with hors d’oeuvres of assorted cheeses, shrimp and chorizo skewers, and deviled eggs before being served a seasonal salad and the themed Safari One Pot entree of pot roast with roasted carrots, butternut squash, and mashed potatoes or select the vegetarian entree of winter vegetables and gnocchi. Then savor the kilimanjaro cake dessert, served with a mini vanilla ice cream scoop.

Guests to the Mount Hope Mansion Murder Mystery will find themselves in a big game adventure in British East Africa in 1911. Meet a few of the world’s greatest safari guides and big game hunters and prepare to stalk some of the world’s most exotic creatures. Gather clues as you meet the talented Mount Hope Mansion cast in character for a theatrical interactive dining experience. After your four-course meal, guests assemble in the Mansion’s Theater Room for a time of interrogation, hilarity, and the answer to the big question that is undeniably “the elephant in the room”. Volksfest, presented by the Harrisburg Area Volkswagen Club (HAVOC), celebrates its 26th annual festival on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate. Revel in the best air and water-cooled Volkswagens while enjoying the food from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire Kitchens and the fresh beverages of Swashbuckler Ales. Volksfest is held on April 28th and opens at 8AM. Pick out your favorite and wait for the award show at 2PM as President’s Choice, Specialty Awards, and Sponsor’s Choice are given out to the ten best air cooled and water-cooled vehicles.

On Memorial Day Weekend, enjoy free parking, free admission, and free wine sampling from over twenty wineries for Mount Hope’s 11^th Annual FlavorFest! The festival brings together the best in the state for our diverse wines and artisan hand-crafts. Learn something new from a cooking demonstration with regional chefs, attend a culinary workshop, or sit back, relax, and soak in some live music. FlavorFest takes place May 26 and 27 and is open from 11AM-5PM.

If beer is more your thing, then plan a trip to Mount Hope for the 10^th Annual BrewFest. Get your sampling glass and enjoy a variety of different craft brews from breweries and distilleries across the country. Listen to live music and shop wares from various merchants. Food is complimentary, too! BrewFest takes place on May 12 and is open from 11AM-3PM and 4:30-8:30PM.

Tickets are also on sale now for the Celtic Fling and Highland Games. This one-of-a-kind Celtic festival is more than just great ale and bagpipes--it celebrates everything unique and exciting about the captivating cultures of the Irish, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, Manx, Bretons, and Galecians/Asturians. Take a first-hand tour of Celtic culture while enjoying delicious Celtic cuisine, cider, ales, and music.
