Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Baseball is back, baby! Bring on the peanuts and Cracker Jacks! When you stay with us at BF Hiestand House, professional baseball is right in your backyard. The Minor League's Harrisburg Senators and the Atlantic League's York Revolution and Lancaster Barnstormers are all just a short drive from our historic inn. Here's what you need to know to plan a trip to the ballpark during your next getaway to south-central Pennsylvania.
The Harrisburg Senators are the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The team – which has six Eastern League titles under its belt – calls FNB Field on City Island home. With players hoping to make it to The Show, you know you can catch high-caliber action on the field at a Senators game. Root for the home team and be ready for exhilarating homeruns, diving catches and heart-stopping calls. Catch a regular season game through mid-September, and on Fridays, stick around after the game to watch a sensational fireworks display light up the sky over the Susquehanna River.
The Lancaster Barnstormers and the York Revolution enjoy a friendly "War of the Roses" rivalry between the Red Rose (Lancaster) and White Rose (York) cities. Both teams are part of the independent Atlantic League, which in 2021 became a MLB Partner League. The Barnstormers play at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, just 20 minutes from BF Hiestand House, while the Revolution play at PeoplesBank Park in the heart of downtown York. Interesting fact: Former Baltimore Orioles great and Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson got his start playing in York and is now part of the Revolution's ownership group. Both teams wow their fans with an electric atmosphere and incredible action on the field! With fun promotions all summer long plus delicious food and drink specials to satisfy your ballpark cravings, you can't go wrong with a date night out to enjoy America's favorite pastime.
