The Ultimate Experience: A Hot Air Balloon Ride

Your Hot Air Balloon Ride pilot will guide you over quilt patterned Amish farmland where you can see farmers working their fields. You’ll pass over quaint towns like Ephrata, Strasburg, New Holland, and Intercourse. On a clear day, you can even see the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay.

The United States Hot Air Balloon Team offers rides daily at sunrise (6 am) and sunset (6 pm) and takes off from Bird-in-Hand about 25 minutes from the B. F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast. Plan on spending about 2.5 to 3 hours from start to finish. You are invited to participate in the pre-flight preparations and can watch the balloon inflate. The flight is about one hour in duration and post-flight offers time to relax and share your experience while sipping champagne and enjoying snacks.
