The 2023 season is now underway, with eight amazing shows on the schedule. Up first is "Murder on the Orient Express," from Jan. 20 through Feb. 18. It's an adaptation of the Agatha Christie story about a murder aboard a snowbound train in 1930s Europe. Next, from Feb. 24 through April 1, is "Sister Act," the hit musical based on the film starring Whoopi Goldberg about a chorus girl hiding in a convent from her gangster boyfriend. Another movie comes to life on the Dutch Apple stage when "Footloose" cuts loose from April 7 to May 20. It's the tale of outsider Ren and his effect on a Midwestern town where dancing isn’t allowed. The first half of the 2023 season finishes with a hunk of burning love. “Elvis the Musical," running May 26-June 24, features more than 40 hits from the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
From June 30 to Aug. 5, the young, high-energy cast of Disney’s "Newsies: The Broadway Musical” hits the stage to tell the real-life story of the 1899 New York newsboys strike in song and dance. The Broadway classic “Guys and Dolls,” a story of gamblers, showgirls and soul-saving missionaries, returns to the Dutch Apple Aug. 11-Sept. 16. Things get tropical with Jimmy Buffett’s "Escape to Margaritaville,” running from Sept. 22-Nov. 11. This jukebox show uses Buffett’s music to tell the story of romances between locals and tourists on a volcanic island in the Caribbean. And finally, get in the holiday spirit with "A Christmas Carol: The Musical." This beloved Charles Dickens tale, told with music, runs Nov. 17-Dec. 30.
