Northwest Lancaster County River Trail

Fourteen miles of repurposed rail trail have created the public Northwest Lancaster County River Trail along the banks of the Susquehanna’s Lower Branch. At the trails southern end, visit the Chickie Rock Overlook at the top of a 100-foot high outcropping and take in the view of the Susquehanna River.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

The United States Hot Air Balloon Team offers rides daily at sunrise (6 am) and sunset (6 pm) and take off from Bird-in-Hand about 25 minutes from the B. F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast. Plan on spending about 2.5 to 3 hours from start to finish. You are invited to participate in the pre-flight preparations and can watch the balloon inflate.
